Corporate Overview

Overview of

Asian Supply Base Sdn. Bhd.

Asian Supply Base Sdn. Bhd. (ASB) is wholly owned by the State Government of Sabah via Sabah Energy Corporation (SEC) and was incorporated on 17th March 1984 as an Offshore Supply Base to participate and support the Oil & Gas exploration, development and production (EDP) activities off the coast of Sabah & Sarawak.

Since its formation, ASB has been operating on 24 hours, 7 days a week and 365 days a year in exclusively providing facilities and services that are tailored to the requirements of the Oil & Gas companies.

On 16th July 2012, ASB was officially gazetted as one of the National Key Points by Jawatankuasa Pusat Sasaran Penting (JPSP).

ASB has been classified as Priority I, which by law is an inevitable key point if the functions were destroyed; or any kind of destruction of the facility will result in serious repercussions on the country’s economy, national security or government affairs.

A “National Key Point” (NKP) refers to any installation with output or services that are considered vital, in which any form of destruction or damage to the installation will bring about a great loss to the country’s economy, defence or national security, or greatly affects the government’s operations and the country’s image.

For a large company like ASB, being known as a National Key Point is important to protect its safety and assets. Additionally, it will help ASB gain the trust of its customers as it offers a higher level of security and the opportunity to further grow its business.
